The Shelborne by Proper - A destination for luxury hotel enthusiasts looking to experience a modern take on the iconic MiMo design style. MiMo, a Miami postwar architectural style defined by smooth corners, flat rooflines, and open breezeways, designed to evoke tropical sanctuaries.

The Shelborne’s 1941 legacy has been revived with an 100 million dollar renovation by @adctuneu and it’s worth every penny! The seamless blend of Miami’s historic architecture with warm contemporary design feels effortless and, best of all, timeless.

Kenny Nguyen is an American artist grew up on a coconut farm in a rural area near the Mekong Delta in southern Vietnam…He begins by tearing swaths of silk fabric into hundreds of strips that he dips in acrylic paint and adheres to raw canvas. Methodically, almost meditatively, he repeats the process—tearing, painting, sanding, sewing, weaving, attaching, layering—until he has a structured but malleable medium, which he shapes into undulating, sculpted forms.”

Throughout The Shelborne, every detail from the paintings and sculptures to the handcrafted furniture is beautifully integrated and well executed. Thus transforming the property into a living gallery! Sustainability runs as a unifying thread through the artwork, subtly yet meaningfully shaping the property’s ethos.

Mallorca-based artist Sara Regal works with a variety of waste materials to create new and unique pieces that beautifully blend art, craft and sustainability.
